21st Century Influence
#PRogressSU is an annual initiative driven by graduate students at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University to discuss current issues, trends, and innovation in the public relations industry.
This year, students are focusing on influence in the 21st Century. They have highlighted various sectors of digital media by interviewing strategists, communicators and influencers from across the world including China, Canada and the United States.

Camila Vilas

Noelle Cheney
Noelle is both a content creator and teacher based in Kansas City! She began creating content in 2020, with her TikTok videos showing the reality behind being a teacher. She can be seen creating a welcoming and inclusive community for her followers and students.
Industry Leaders

Ben Morse
Morse graduated from Connecticut College in 2004 with a degree in English. In 2007, he joined Marvel Entertainment, where he spent the next 10 years in a variety of roles specializing in digital and new media. Most recently, Morse served as the Editorial Director of New Media at Marvel, where his responsibilities included managing daily content for Marvel.com, hosting and co-producing the This Week in Marvel podcast, and working with Marvel's social media team to market across platforms including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. In 2018, after moving to Las Vegas, Morse started his new career at UNLV where, in addition to teaching, he helped to found the Rebel Media Group, a professionally guided and student staffed digital media agency.

Ryan Schram
As President & Chief Operating Officer, Schram provides day-to-day leadership and managerial oversight for IZEA – championing the needs of its team members, clients, partners, and creators around the world. With over two decades of leadership experience at the intersection of marketing, media, and technology, Ryan has an established track record of driving growth, efficiency, and profitability for leading-edge companies. In addition to his responsibilities at IZEA, Schram has been actively involved as a board member, advisor, and mentor, for companies including 6×6, TechStars Mobility, Stage Leap, ProfitStreams, and Stratos. Gail Gabrielle
Gail Gabrielle Ordogh is an instructor and course developer with McMaster University, where she teaches Digital Marketing. As a Social Media Subject Matter Expert, Gail has worked on projects for Hootsuite and spoken at conferences like Mesh Marketing and the NHL Exchange sharing her experiences working with beloved brands like The Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, TFC, The Weather Network, Tennis Canada and the Ontario Lottery Corporation, Coca-Cola and NFL just to name a few.
Newhouse School Alum

Xiaofan Shen (Shin)
Shin graduated from Syracuse University in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in public relations at the S.I. Newhouse School. Now he is working at BBDO as a strategic planner. He has many experiences in brand strategy and communication campaign strategy in both local and global markets. Shin brings a unique insight into how communication is done in China today and how to utilize a personal brand, an influencer, to promote a business brand.
